Terms & conditions
The agreement between ShantiPe and anyone who holds a retailer, distributor, master distributor or state head account.
Template pending legal review. This policy is sample wording supplied with the site build. Replace the placeholder entity details in site.config.mjs, have the text reviewed by counsel, then set draftLegal: false to remove this notice.
01 Acceptance
By registering for, signing in to or transacting on the ShantiPe portal, you accept these terms on your own behalf and on behalf of the business you operate. If you do not accept them, do not use the portal.
These terms sit alongside our privacy policy, refund & cancellation policy and grievance redressal policy, which form part of this agreement.
02 What we are, and are not
ShantiPe is a technology platform. We aggregate services provided by licensed banks, payment aggregators, BBPS billers and travel inventory partners, and present them through one interface.
- We are not a bank and do not accept deposits.
- We do not issue credit and we are not a lender.
- Funds in your wallet are an operating float for transacting on the platform. They are not a bank deposit and do not earn interest.
- Each underlying service is governed by the terms of the bank, biller or partner that provides it, in addition to these terms.
03 Eligibility & KYC
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of contracting.
- You must operate a genuine business at the address you register, and be able to evidence it.
- You must complete KYC — PAN, Aadhaar and business proof — before any transacting service is enabled. Sign-in without completed KYC gives read-only access.
- You must keep your KYC current and tell us promptly if your details, ownership or address change.
- We may re-verify at any time, and may suspend services while a re-verification is outstanding.
04 Your account
- Your credentials are personal. You may not share them, and you are responsible for everything done under your login.
- Sessions end automatically after two hours of inactivity. This is a safeguard, not a substitute for signing out on a shared terminal.
- Tell us immediately at info@dotmik.com if you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else.
- One account per outlet. Operating multiple accounts to circumvent limits or slabs is a breach of these terms.
05 Services & approvals
Services are granted individually to your account based on your tier, your agreement and partner availability. A service that has not been granted will not appear on your dashboard and cannot be opened by URL.
We may add, change, withdraw or re-price a service where a partner changes its own terms, or where regulation requires it. Where a change is material and within our control, we will give reasonable notice inside the portal.
06 Wallet & settlement
- Your main wallet funds outgoing transactions. It is topped up by a fund request approved by your upline, or by payment into the virtual account issued to you.
- Your AEPS wallet collects amounts withdrawn by customers at your counter, and is settled to your registered bank account on the cycle published in the portal.
- Settlement is made only to a bank account held in the name of the registered account holder, and verified by penny drop.
- You may not transact beyond your available wallet balance. We are not obliged to honour an instruction that would overdraw it.
- We may place a hold on a balance where a transaction is under investigation for fraud, a chargeback or a regulatory query.
07 Commission
Commission is applied from the slab attached to your account at the time of the transaction, and is visible under Commission plans before you transact. It is credited to the main wallet as each transaction settles.
Slabs may be revised with notice. Commission on a transaction that is later reversed, cancelled or found to be fraudulent will be recovered from your wallet.
08 Your obligations
- Obtain the customer’s informed consent before every Aadhaar authentication, and explain what the transaction will do.
- Never capture or retain a customer’s Aadhaar number, fingerprint, PIN or OTP outside the portal flow.
- Hand over cash only after the portal shows a confirmed success — never on a pending status.
- Give the customer the receipt the portal generates.
- Charge only the published service charge. Collecting an unauthorised surcharge is a breach of these terms.
- Display any signage your agreement or applicable rules require.
- Use a registered biometric device with a current RD service, and keep it in your own custody.
09 Prohibited use
You must not use the platform to:
- Launder money, finance terrorism, or evade tax or reporting thresholds — including by splitting transactions.
- Transact for a third party who is themselves acting as an unauthorised sub-agent.
- Impersonate a customer, or transact without the customer physically present where the service requires presence.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, probe or interfere with the platform or its APIs.
- Use the ShantiPe name, logo or branding outside what your agreement permits.
10 Availability
We aim to keep the portal available continuously, but services depend on third-party banking rails, biller networks and telecom infrastructure. Downtime, maintenance windows and partner outages will occur, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
11 Liability
- We are responsible for the correct functioning of the platform and for passing your instruction accurately to the relevant partner.
- We are not liable for the acts, omissions, outages or decisions of banks, billers, aggregators or travel partners.
- We are not liable for loss arising from your own breach of section 8 — in particular, cash handed over against a pending transaction.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit or goodwill.
- Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the commission we earned on the transaction in question.
12 Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice depending on the circumstances, if you breach these terms, if your KYC lapses, if we suspect fraud or money laundering, or if a regulator or partner requires it.
You may close your account by writing to info@dotmik.com. On closure, verified balances are settled to your registered bank account after deduction of amounts due, and after any applicable hold period for chargebacks has passed.
13 Intellectual property
The ShantiPe platform, its source code, design, name and marks belong to DotMik Software Private Limited. Your account grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the portal for the purpose of operating your outlet, and nothing more.
14 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the escalation steps in our grievance redressal policy, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at the location of our registered office.
